Milford Hills Baptist Church – Doctrinal Statement
What We Believe

Introduction: Milford Hills Baptist Church is an Bible-believing Baptist church standing firmly upon the inspired and preserved Word of God, the King James Bible. Our purpose is to glorify Jesus Christ through faithful preaching, evangelism, discipleship, and a separated Christian testimony.
We are a local body of baptized believers committed to the Great Commission — reaching souls for Christ, teaching the truths of Scripture, and training Christians to live godly in this present world. Our doctrine is rooted in the historic Baptist faith and reflects our conviction that the Bible is the sole authority for faith and practice.
The following doctrinal statement expresses what we believe, teach, and practice as a church body, seeking to “earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints” (Jude 3).

I. The Scriptures
We believe that the Holy Bible, as preserved in the King James Version, is the inspired, infallible, and inerrant Word of God. It was given by divine inspiration and has been perfectly preserved for English-speaking people. The Bible is our final authority for all matters of faith, doctrine, and daily living. It is not to be corrected by science, culture, or opinion but stands forever as the very Word of God.
📖 2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:19–21; Psalm 12:6–7; Proverbs 30:5–6.

II. The Godhead
We believe in one true and living God, eternally existing in three Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Ghost—each co-equal in power, glory, and essence. The Father purposes, the Son accomplishes, and the Spirit applies the work of redemption. Though distinct in operation, the three are one in divine unity.
📖 Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; John 10:30.

III. The Lord Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is God manifest in the flesh. Conceived by the Holy Ghost and born of the virgin Mary, He lived a sinless life and died a substitutionary death for the sins of the whole world. His bodily resurrection assures the believer of eternal life, and His ascension secures His present ministry as our Advocate and Intercessor. He is coming again in power and glory to reign forever.
📖 John 1:1, 14; Luke 1:35; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Hebrews 4:15; Romans 8:34.

IV. The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Godhead, co-equal with the Father and the Son. He convicts the sinner, regenerates the heart of the believer, indwells every Christian, and empowers the Church to fulfill the Great Commission. The Holy Spirit never exalts Himself but always points to Christ.
📖 John 14:16–17, 26; John 16:7–8, 13; Ephesians 1:13–14; Romans 8:9.

V. The Creation
We believe in a literal, six-day creation as revealed in the book of Genesis. The world and all that is in it were spoken into existence by God. Man did not evolve but was created in God’s image for His glory. Every creature testifies of God’s power and wisdom.
📖 Genesis 1–2; Exodus 20:11; John 1:3; Colossians 1:16–17.

VI. The Fall of Man
We believe that man was created innocent but chose to sin by disobeying God, bringing death and separation from Him. All humanity inherits a sinful nature and stands condemned before a holy God. Without divine redemption, man is hopeless and lost.
📖 Genesis 3:1–6; Romans 3:10, 23; 5:12; 6:23.

VII. Salvation
We believe that salvation is wholly of grace through faith in the finished work of Christ. It cannot be earned by works, religion, or good deeds. The sinner must repent (change of mind toward God) and believe upon the Lord Jesus Christ to be saved. Salvation brings forgiveness, justification, and eternal life.
📖 Ephesians 1:7, 2:8–9; Acts 20:21; Romans 10:9–10, 13; John 3:3–7.

VIII. The Eternal Security of the Believer
We believe that the true child of God is eternally secure in Christ (once saved, always saved). Salvation is not maintained by human effort but by the power of God. God's Word forbids the use of Christian liberty as an occasion to fulfill carnal desires. Instead, the Christian should use his liberty and security to serve the Lord.
📖 John 10:27–29; Romans 8:35–39; 1 Peter 1:5; 1 John 5:13.

IX. The Church
We believe that the local church is a visible assembly of baptized believers, united to carry out the Great Commission. The church is autonomous and governed by Christ, its Head. The purpose of the church is to worship God, edify the saints, and reach the lost through evangelism and missions.
📖 Matthew 16:18; Acts 2:41–47; Ephesians 1:22–23; Colossians 1:18.

X. The Offices of the Church: Pastor and Deacon
We believe that Christ ordained two offices within the local church—the Pastor and the Deacon.
The Pastor (also called Bishop or Elder) is the spiritual shepherd responsible for preaching the Word, guiding the flock, and maintaining doctrinal purity. The Deacon serves the church through ministry, assisting the Pastor in practical matters. Both offices are held by men who meet the biblical qualifications of 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
📖 1 Timothy 3:1–13; Titus 1:5–9; Acts 6:1–7; 1 Peter 5:1–4.

XI. Baptism and the Lord’s Supper
We believe that baptism is the outward testimony of the inward change that occurs at salvation and is performed by immersion after conversion. The Lord’s Supper is a memorial of Christ’s sacrifice, not a means of grace. Both ordinances are symbolic and to be observed faithfully by the local church.
📖 Matthew 28:19–20; Acts 8:36–38; Romans 6:3–5; 1 Corinthians 11:23–29.

XII. Separation
We believe that God commands His people to live holy lives and to separate from worldly practices, false religion, and apostasy. Biblical separation is both personal and ecclesiastical—demonstrating loyalty to Christ above all.
📖 2 Corinthians 6:14–18; Romans 12:1–2; 1 John 2:15–17; 2 Thessalonians 3:6.

XIII. The Second Coming of Christ
We believe in the literal, visible, bodily return of Jesus Christ. The Church will be raptured after the Tribulation and before God’s wrath is poured out. Christ will return to establish His millennial reign, bringing justice and peace to the earth. Milford Hills Baptist is a Post- Tribulation, Pre - Wrath, Pre - Millennial, Non- Dispensational, Non – Zionist Church.
📖 Matthew 24:29–31; 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; 1 Thessalonians 5:1-9; 2 Thessalonians 2:1-3; Revelation 6-7.

XIV. The Eternal State
We believe in the bodily resurrection of all men—the saved to everlasting life and the lost to everlasting punishment. Heaven is a place of joy in the presence of Christ, while Hell is a literal place of eternal torment.
📖 John 5:28–29; Revelation 20:1–15; Matthew 25:46; Daniel 12:2.

XV. The Family and Marriage
We believe that marriage was instituted by God as the lifelong union between one man and one woman. The home is the first God-ordained institution, and parents are responsible to train their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Strong families build strong churches.
📖 Genesis 2:18–24; Matthew 19:4–6; Ephesians 5:22–25; 6:1–4.

XVI. The Sanctity of Life
We believe that all human life is sacred and created in the image of God. Life begins at conception, and every life has divine purpose and value. Therefore, abortion, euthanasia, and assisted suicide are sins that violate the sanctity of life.
📖 Psalm 139:13–16; Jeremiah 1:5; Exodus 20:13.
